"I have been doing my own accounts and taxes for more than 45 years, and have been audited and successfully appealed. Back a few years ago, I was a Certified Financial Planner for 7 years (CFP), so I know the tax laws well. I continue to educate myself re the latest info on tax for artists. The financial background along with the art is a very rare combination, and combined with my art teaching background, should be of great value to artists. I also am well informed concerning legal matters, from the same Financial Planning background, and BFA training and continue to update my knowledge on a regular basis." Jessie Parker

The seminars will take place at the artist's studio in Findlay Creek Village, just south of Leitrim off Bank. A Google map will be sent when registration is confirmed.

Testimonials from Finance Seminar attendees, as of February,2011:

"The seminar was very informative and I was able to accumulate a great deal of information, which will be very helpful come tax time. The information on pricing was especially useful."

Betty Sullivan, artist ,Ottawa

"I've heard varying pieces of information on what is and is not deductible from a number of artists, so it was a relief to finally get the specifics on the Revenue Canada rules, particularly those non-deductibles that would normally be assumed as deductibles by artists. I now feel that I have an iron-clad template that I can follow and at a lower cost than what an accountant would charge. I'm so thankful that you've developed both sides of your brain Jessie. "

Anne Swiderski, artist, Chelsea, PQ

Please pass this on to other artists who could benefit, even if you don’t need it for yourself !
